The Lake District
Over the August Bank Holiday weekend in the summer of 2025, my friends and I travelled to the Lake District for a long-anticipated adventure. Our main goal was to climb Scafell Pike, England’s highest peak—a challenge we had talked about for months and were eager to take on together. Coincidentally, my 26th lap around the sun fell the day before we set off, giving me the perfect excuse to turn the trip into an extended birthday celebration.
Between the inevitable shenanigans and moments of recovery, we made the most of our time in the region, exploring several iconic spots across the Lakes. We wandered through Windermere, took in the dramatic beauty of Wast Water, relaxed along the shores near Drigg, and discovered plenty more along the way. The combination of adventure, laughter, and stunning scenery made the weekend unforgettable and a fitting way to mark another year.
